In a devastating turn of events, promising University of Miami linebacker Adarius Hayes has been charged with multiple counts of vehicular homicide. This follows a tragic collision in Largo, Florida, in May 2025, which claimed the lives of two children and a 78-year-old woman.

The Collision Details

On May 10, Hayes was reportedly driving a Dodge Durango at nearly double the 40 mph speed limit. Largo police stated that he was engaging in reckless driving, weaving through traffic aggressively, and changing lanes without signaling. These actions led to a fatal collision with a Kia Soul at the Orange View Drive and Ridge Road intersection. Tragically, 78-year-old Gail Price and two children in the Kia lost their lives, while a 58-year-old passenger, Herbert Rivera, survived but was hospitalized.

Legal Proceedings and Arrest

Released on a $350,000 bond, he now faces three counts of vehicular homicide—a stark reminder of the consequences of reckless driving. Police Chief Mike Loux emphasized the ongoing communication with the victims' families, expressing their relief over Hayes' arrest.$
